Alex has grandparents from Germany, Spain and Serbia (and in-laws from Mexico and Vietnam), which might explain his adventurous spirit and ongoing interest in learning about new people, places and cultures. (Ask him about living in Spain after graduating from college!)
Alex earned a B.S. in marketing and communications from the University of Indianapolis, where he served as president of the University's chapter of the American Marketing Association. Following graduation, he worked for over two years at a marketing and public relations firm, where his primary clients were collegiate and non-profit organizations. He is currently serving as the vice president of collegiate relations on the board of the Indianapolis chapter of the AMA.
In addition to globetrotting to visit family members, Alex's interests include photography and cycling.
(He even competed in the Hilly Hundred—a grueling, two-day cycling event through the hills of southern Indiana.) He also reports a newfound interest in developing his inner handyman. But we're not talking about minor, cosmetic repairs here: When he and his wife recently purchased their first home, he built an entire garage!
