Aimee

Aimee Hosemann, Ph.D., Director of Qualitative Research

Aimee joined RHB in January 2020 after serving as faculty at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She also taught at Colorado College, Texas State University and the University of Texas at Austin. A noted linguistic and sociocultural anthropologist trained in studying the relationships of language, culture and identity in contexts including higher ed, Aimee works across RHB’s practices including creative and research projects, organizational assessment and executive and DEIB counsel. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in anthropology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and her B.A. in anthropology at Idaho State University. Her doctoral dissertation explored the ritual “sad songs” of Amazonian Indigenous women. Before she became an academic, Aimee was a former newspaper journalist and editor. She enjoys spending her time away from work looking for a body of water to enjoy with her husband, kids and granddaughter. The two spoiled cats stay home.
